Wichita Falls Birth & Wellness Center is a program of care designed to give a woman confidence in her ability to give birth purely.
In your private birthing suite you can make yourself comfortable, wear your own clothing, eat when you feel hungry, soak in a tub, and even have a water birth. A kitchen is available for meal preparation by the family for the postpartum mother and father, and the family room is a relaxing, comfortable environment for waiting and resting.Your labor will be unhindered by tethering straps and cords since our midwives don’t routinely use IVs (or even saline locks) and your baby is monitored using a doppler, intermittently. You may move around as you please, utilizing our Earth Birth Swing, beautiful (real) bed, birth stool, yoga ball, or home like seating. For pain relief, we have nitrous oxide available, a TENS unit, and the soothingly deep tub. Your doula is also welcome. A rebozo is available for comfort measures or warmth. If needed, chiropractic care is available for a stalled labor or malpositioned baby.

Waterbirth

This large tub is the centerpiece of the Martha Room’s large bathroom. Water is often called “the midwife’s epidural” for it’s proven effect to ease laboring intensity. Waterbirth also helps ease baby’s transition into the world and reduces the woman’s risk of perineal tearing. Mom and baby can then relax after birth and the hard work of labor in an herbal bath used to aid in the healing of Mom’s tissues and baby’s cord. There is also a shower available.

Earth Birth Swing

Exam / Lab Room

For the visits that include more of a clinical component this sunny and sweet exam room is utilized (Pap smears and blood draws). Notice the toys in every room-your family is welcome here.

Chiropractic & Massage Room

Dr. Guidry often works on moms in early labor. Our clients have the opportunity to utilize this service for mom and even to have baby checked after birth if desired. Soon we will also have a massage therapist available for prenatal massage.

Midwife’s Office / Exam Room

Come in and visit, tell us about yourself, your family, and your dreams for your birth. There is no rush as you are welcomed into our midwife’s office and sitting area. During prenatal visits, the exam table is utilized to check on baby and mom within the warm style of this room.

Business Office

Our entire team loves getting to know our clients and their families and there’s plenty of room to do so in our business office. We keep a lending library here along with select products your midwife may recommend.

My prenatal care and birth at Wichita Falls Birth and Wellness Center was beyond what I could have imagined. Every time I walked in the door, I was greeted as a friend and never rushed. Lenora, the nurse midwife, is skilled, knowledgeable, and cares for her patients like no other. During my labor, Lenora, Wendy and the rest of the staff allowed my team to support me wholly, only stepping in when necessary. I will never forget my labor and birth experience! I am so grateful to have found the birth center. We unexpectedly moved to the are as my husband is active duty and I knew I didn't want to deliver at a hospital. I was amazed that the birth center took Tricare Prime! Although it was a bit of a drive and I have quick labors, I am infinitely thankful to have been able to deliver outside of a hospital setting. I felt so comfortable throughout my labor--the care was exemplary! I highly recommend all mother's to interview them. Once you step into the victorian home and speak with Lenora, you will know that the birth center is where you want to birth your baby.
